WATER WELL AND FOUNTAIN OF WUDU PROJECTS

WATER WELL AND FOUNTAIN OF WUDU PROJECTS

Water Well and Fountain of Wudu Projects

We are building Water Wells and Fountains of Wudu in remote locations of Bangladesh and Cambodia

‘One well, thousands well lives!’

Water is the fundamental source of life needed by all living things. Bangladesh and Cambodia are among the poorest and underdeveloped countries in the world. In addition, there is clean and drinkable water shortage in the country. Despite many rivers, water quality is affected by environmental pollution from industrial interventions. Not only the rivers but also ground water is contaminated with arsenic, which causes cancer and severely damage many integral systems in the human body. According to UNICEF reports, two out of five households in Bangladesh drink water from sources already contaminated with disease-causing bacteria and viruses. The rich are more likely to have drinking water on their premises, while poor families are forced to dedicate more time collecting water from public or other outside sources.

Since 2016, we have been conducting water well projects in Bangladesh. Especially, in the regions, which have troubles with accessing to clean drinkable water because of geographical conditions, lack of infrastructure and institutional instabilities, we build water wells together with a place of wudhu.

Narrated in Nasai, Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “Water.” So building water well or fountains for our past relatives are among advises of Rasulullah (s.a.w).

Standards of Water Wells

– Water well projects start immediately after receiving necessary funding, and completion time changes between 40-50 days. – There is a guarantee for reaching clean, drinkable water after drilling. In case of lack of clean water source, drilling is moved to another tested location. – Drilling goes between 80-100m depth since the clean water is reachable at that depth. Inspection and Repairing of Water Well – Inspection and maintenance of water well, which opened on your behalf, is followed by our local crew. – In the villages, water wells are entrusted to local officials like Imam of the mosque or governor.
